Mary Graham

Librarian, Children and Families, Central Library
Calgary Public Library
Participates in 1 Session
A professional librarian for 20 years, Mary studied history before being captivated by the joys of children’s literature and challenges of supporting early literacy. She has worked with children of all ages in a variety of settings, and her professional practice has been enhanced by her own experiences as a parent of 4 children, ages 3 to 11. After watching her children blossom in a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool program, she became a “play enthusiastic” and proponent of inquiry and play-based learning in a library environment. She is committed to pushing the boundaries of library services and literacy work and supporting children and caregivers to explore and fulfill their potentials.
