Participates in 1 Session

Kate is a recent graduate from Quest University Canada, where she received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus in health sciences. She is particularly passionate about public health policy, nutrition, and food security initiatives. Outside of her academic pursuits, she is trained in youth mentoring and community-based education, and has facilitated sessions on topics related to healthy eating, body image, and creating a healthy relationship with food. Kate has also gained experience in the food and agriculture sector upon completion of a studentship with a small organization committed to local food, energy, and waste initiatives. Combining her academic training, excitement for community initiatives, and understanding of the operational side of program delivery is what led her to Poppy Innovations! As the Community Food Animator at Poppy Innovations, Kate's role includes partnering with schools and delivering the Edible Education program, and connecting with community organizations.
