This workshop asks the question, “How can teachers build resiliency in themselves to develop and maintain positive, supportive and caring relationships with students from at-risk environments?” Participants will consider approaches for integrating a strength-based resiliency perspective into teaching practice, examine personal perspectives/paradigms that foster positive relationships with students, and provide ideas, resources and strategies consistent with research-based practices that increase the student’s ability to succeed in school and in life.
