Come Play with Math

Join us for an interactive session in which we explore, experiment and play with number and number operations through authentic problems.  Come and engage in some interesting math problems and exercise your mathematical reasoning muscles.  We will talk about and explore what challenging math problems look like and how they can be used to develop our students’ ability to persevere, detect patterns, make conjectures, and communicate their questions and their findings. We will have lots of time to work with problems and discuss how they might be adapted to meet the needs of different classrooms and different learners.  In this workshop session, participants will be given the chance to do math with colleagues and talk about what it means to solve authentic problems.
