A Deeper Understanding of Energy

Themes:
Curriculum and PedagogyScience
When:
Friday Feb 15   12:30 PM to 03:30 PM (3 hours)
Where:

Understanding how energy is transformed and flows between objects is a central concept in science - yet it is an abstract idea that is difficult for students to grasp beyond an algebraic analysis. In this session, resources from the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics will be presented and used to provide an intuitive introduction to the idea of energy and its transformations.

Teachers will engage in activities suitable for Science 10, Physics 20 and Physics 30 as they develop multiple representations to ehance an understanding of energy.
