New Blood is a show created by Strathmore High School in 2014. The dance class and the Blackfoot class came together to devise a show about Blackfoot history. It ended up being a show about reconciliation. Since then New Blood has been invited to perform throughout Alberta and BC performing over 100 times with 7 different casts. New Blood tells the story of former Siksika chief, Vincent Yellow Old Woman’s journey through residential school and how he became chief of his people. It is told through dance and poetry.
