Concerned about early reading skills? Identifying the risks of reading problems early and responding with timely, appropriate and effective interventions can significantly reduce the severity of a child's reading difficulties. The easy-to-use Reading Readiness Screening Tool is for K-1 students in English, French immersion, or for English Language Learners. The tool helps identify phonological awareness and print-based reading weaknesses. The right insights and interventions can help overcome barriers to literacy.

This workshop is intended to introduce participants to research in the area of early identification of reading problems, to review the Reading Readiness Screening Tool, and to discuss intervention strategies that can be used to support students who are at risk.
