Multidisciplinary literacy “involves the use of reading, reasoning, investigating, speaking, and writing to learn and form complex content knowledge appropriate to a particular discipline” (McConachie, 2010, p.16). This presentation explores how, as teachers, we must adapt our approach to multidisciplinary literacy when students have limited English language proficiency. Participants in this session will learn how to integrate English language development (ELD) with multidisciplinary literacy to support deeper learning in the content areas.
