Calgary has quickly become the disaster capital of Canada. In recent years, the city has experienced floods, windstorms, snowstorms, and hailstorms that have had a significant social and financial impact on Calgarians.

In order to build resiliency at home and in the classroom, the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) is offering teachers a unique opportunity to visit the municipal Emergency Operational Centre (EOC) for a fun and informative workshop focused on emergency preparedness. During this workshop, CEMA will coordinate an interactive simulation where teachers will be able to participate and respond to a mock disaster impacting a school. Teachers will be able to ask questions to emergency response professionals, learn about the City of Calgary’s resources, and get hands-on experience responding to a disaster.

**PLEASE NOTE: The Emergency Operations Centre is a highly secured facility. In order to be issued with a visitor pass to access the facility, each visitor needs to have a piece of valid photo ID with them (Driver/Operator license is ideal).

**Parking is limited and it is recommended that people carpool, street parking is available.
