Many have begun to explore the role design thinking can take within an educational context.  Traditionally, design thinking has been used to create human-centered products for the purpose of a market audience.  Educators, however, have begun to adapt these processes and mindsets beyond the purpose of product innovation towards the design of learning experiences for all.  This approach of applying design thinking aspects into instructional design can serve to honour the collective voice, wisdom and strengths of each student.

Participants will experience both the mindsets and processes of design thinking through an interactive case study.  Additionally, participants will see examples of design thinking in multiple divisional contexts.  Ultimately, participants will experience different ways to design thinking can harmonize instructional design, collaboration with colleagues, and student agency
